AVR DSP Scope Photo

Scope photo showing the timing of the Atmel AVR DSP (digital signal processing) program that I'm working on. The program acquires 256 8-bit samples of an audio signal, at 8000 samples per second. That takes 32ms (milliseconds). The AVR chip, an ATmega8 running at 16MHz, then computes two convolutions on the data, one for detecting a 440Hz tone and the other for detecting a 261Hz tone. Each tone detection takes 550μs (microseconds). Those frequencies are Middle C and the A above it.
