Provence

I have to confess that I have had a hard time choosing what to post this evening. Dipping into the well of my emotions and photographs I just couldn’t find anything that fit. Then I found this…..

It was the summer of 2002 when I went to Provence to photograph for 3 weeks. It was heavenly. I had always thought the rumors of incredible food would be just that – it was all that and more. One afternoon I found myself walking off a rather rich lunch. Down a little lane I met up with 3 happy dogs that led me to their owner. He didn’t speak any English but was as sweet as his dogs. Through the international language of miming and observation I found he lived on a lavender farm in a house carved out of the side of a hill. He let me photograph his little yard explaining the well was from Roman times. I loved the rich history of his farm.
