Dayton Relatives
I don't care if these people are related to me or not, I just like them a whole lot.
Truth is, some, if not all, are related to me. I only know that the woman in the front left is my Gt. Gt. Grandmother "Ella" or "Mommee" as her grandchildren called her.
Next to her is a second cousin of my Mother's. Dottie Gene Wilson, who moved to Texas sometime, and I only know because she would write to my Mother sometimes and tell her about all the debutante dances and frilly dresses, which my Mother was not really into.
I think Dottie Gene's Mother was named "Dot" as well, short for Dorothy, most likely and Dot's husband was name "Bill". My Grandmother wrote about having good times with them in a diary that she kept in the early 30s. I think that "Dot" is on the top far left. Other than that, I can't really guess the others, maybe some are neighbors. However, from the face, I'd say that the other woman in the bottom right might be a Sister of Ella. And she might even be the connection to, as I will call them, "The Dot Wilsons"... I will have to look in my Grandmother's diary for more clues some day. She mentions an Aunt Lillian, so that might be Ella's sister?
Anyway, I'm thinking all this out in type for myself and my relatives, because it's not all that thrilling for anyone else.
Just enjoy the photo at face value, pretty much the way I do. I think I would like to sit and have some lemonade with these folks, in the backyard.. and maybe something stronger, over cards, in the evening...
