Millennium Window, Winwick
St Michael's church in the secluded, picturesque village of Winwick dates mostly from the 13th-15th centuries and built of the characteristic golden brown Northamptonshire ironstone. It consists of west tower, nave and chancel with two small transepts, that on the north being a kind of family mausoleum with several large Baroque tablets.
The original furnishings and woodwork have gone apart from the fine 15th century nave roof. There is a mixed collection of Victorian glass but the highlight here is the west window which has rich abstract glass by Jane Campbell installed for the Millennium, one of the most successful windows of it's kind.
