Lago di Sorapis
A classic location in the Dolomites - the Lago di Sorapis.
While the lake feels like a little corner of paradise, the hike to get there is relatively challenging, at about 13+ km for the roundtrip and with some exposed areas.
As usual, I started this hike in the early AM too and when I got there there were just a couple of other hikers.
By the time I hiked around the lake, which takes about 40 minutes, the shores of the lake had become completely packed.
So best to be there in the very early AM, if you wan to enjoy the lake in relative quietness.
