Statue of Liberty Nebula
๐ฝ Statue of Liberty Nebula, one of the few that looks like how it is named. Have included two versions here which I don't normally do. After spending literally 100s of hours to lift up that faint nebulosity cleanly, I kinda wanted to show it off. Let me know which you like better ๐ I finished capturing data for this project towards the end of December and then the journey to process took me atleast couple hours every night ever since then before I felt I finally had it right. This is the 61st version and I learnt a fair bit about refining my workflow after redoing it so many times. Big thanks to my friends Will (@the_astronomy_enthusiast) for the processing tips early on and Che (@astro_che) for the ongoing critiques as well as the dynamic palette which finally helped bring forward the idea I had in my head of an 'on fire' look. The goal was good detail with low noise, good colour variety and overall something that makes you stop for a moment to think of all the crazy stuff that is out there. Hope I have portrayed that well here. This is the 4 x 5 crop to the center of the image with NGC3603 as well as the Statue (NGC3576). I do intend to collect more exposures of this later in the year and give it a more conventional process but for now super happy to finally consider this finished and ready to share ๐
