MAJORETTE TOYOTA COROLLA ALTIS 1/64
Well it seems my diecast crystal ball has failed me again! With Morrisons previously selling the exact same Majorette castings for three years when they replaced them last August with a new set of models I predicted they would last a further three years but just 12 months later and they have have restocked with fresh 2017 models such as this Toyota Corolla Altis. I didn't see it coming at all and as ever it was down to a Flikr friend and Swiftys Garage to tell me about them.
Amazingly with most other diecast brands increasing in price it seems quite incredible that these new Majorette models have remained at the one Pound price point and makes a mockery of the older stock still lingering on the pegs of Toys R Us at quite literally twice the price! The one casting which has been causing most of the excitement isn't an exotic supercar but a rather normal looking Toyota Corolla Altis, a car not even available here in U.K. though may well in other European markets. There are no fancy opening features on this model but for your sub HW and MBX price you do get a 100% stock looking body which looks super clean and efficient in this metallic white finish and of course plenty of nice painted detailing and clear plastic headlamps. I've not found the much vaunted VW Transporter yet but I was able to find two of these in a local branch. Mint and boxed.
