dreams of ancestors...

Took this shot yesterday afternoon noon just across from the truck stop where I spent the night.

To me there's a sadness in it's face, once roaming vast parts of the continent, now saved from extinction, herds in just a few sanctuary parks and some ranches. This one alone from it's kind, living in a several acre field with a few cattle and a couple of horses.

Not so different from the native people that once roamed this great land.

 

Oh, just before posting this I noticed a Starling in the foreground. I think it's a Starling, terrible with bird identification.
