Irvine is a unique city in many ways (which I've highlighted several times on my photostream).
Yet another aspect that highlights the City's uniqueness is the abundance of nature that is integrated into the abundance of infrastructure.
Title of this pic highlights how Nature (the grass/trees/shrubbery) are the "Foundation" of the aesthetics of this great City.

Btw...anyone know what this tree is? I've no idea, but love how it dominates the front yard (see how the ground swells around the trunk?).
