Silberreiher

Silberreiher sind nicht wirklich selten. Bei uns im Odenwald allerdings schon, gäbe es da nicht diesen einen See....

Extrem herausfordernd war die Belichtung dieser schneeweißen Vögel, denn während der Wald im Hintergrund noch vielfach im Schatten lag, so waren die Vögel im Vordergrund bereits voll in der Sonne. Einige Lichtwerte unterhalb der von der Kamera errechneten Belichtung (ich fotografiere immer im Manuell-Modus, aber mit ISO-Automatik) und schon klappt`s mit der Zeichnung im Gefieder😊 . Ja, ich weiß, 1/500 s ist zu lang, aber kurz zuvor saßen die beiden noch am Baum, flogen plötzlich weg und ich hab nicht schnell genug auf 1/2000 s umstellen können. Anfänger-Fehler, muss ich noch üben.... 😁.

Great egrets aren't exactly rare. Here in the Odenwald mountain range, however, they would be, if it weren't for that one lake... Exposure to these snow-white birds was extremely challenging, because while the forest in the background was still largely in shadow, the birds in the foreground were already bathed in sunlight. A few stops below the exposure calculated by the camera (I always shoot in manual mode, but with automatic ISO) and the detail in their plumage came out perfectly. Ah, I know, 1/500 s is too long, but just a moment ago they were sitting in the tree, then suddenly flew away and I couldn't switch to 1/2000 s quickly enough. Beginner's mistake, I need more practice.... 😁
