Potsdamer Platz, Berlin, 28 August 1962

Stresemannstrasse, receding from the camera, is initially in East Berlin but after a short distance the border cuts across it and the further part lies in the West. The Wall can just be seen in the distance crossing the street. Further on still (in West Berlin) was the ruin of Anhalter Bahnhof (see photos in my set "Berlin, 1959 and 1960").

This and many other of my photographs are featured in my book "Berlin in the Cold War, 1959-1966" (Allan Hailstone, Amberley Publishing, October 2017), together with the story of my experiences of photographing divided Berlin in those years.
