Castlehill Harbour, near Castletown, August 2017

This harbour dates from the 1820’s and at one time was a major player in the exporting of the famous Caithness Flagstone. Back in the day the famous stone was exported overseas. The harbour still looks great and very solid and still provides shelter for lighter craft. It is a shame that most of buildings around the harbour are ruinous and in quite a sorry state.
