Day 4: 31/10/10
It's Halloween today, apparently. I had a small child with paint smeared on her face come to my door at 2pm, holding a Woolworths bag and asking "trick or treat!" I paused, gave an awkward smile and said "Sorry, I don't have any lollies." I told everyone who would listen that I was going to rant at the first person who came to my door asking that ridiculous question about the demise of individual culture and the homogenization of america and how it was going to be the downfall of independent thought, but for some reason I didn't. Maybe because she was 7, and maybe because I was scared she'd pull all my roses out or do something equally as horrible if I had told her off. Instead, I am now sitting inside as it rains perodically, eating Nutella on toast, drinking English Breakfast and writing my EU paper on France and Germany. I wish every day was as peaceful as this.
