Bobcat approach
We had a most amazing experience with this big male bobcat last week while we were visiting Point Reyes National Seashore. We observed him for more than 30 minutes. When we first sighted him, he was far out in the middle of a field. While we watched, he came quite close and hid in the grass at the edge of the trail. After taking a number of shots we decided to move on down the trail and let him be. But he had a different plan. He casually followed us down the trail, moved around us through the deep weeds nearby and then appeared in front of us on the trail again. He looked back at us, marked his territory and then pranced away. He let us know that we were using HIS trail! At no time did he seem distressed by us...just perhaps a bit annoyed.
