Crash!

We watched the glacier for a few hours and saw several pieces calve into the water. It was both an auditory and a visual experience. The glacier crackled, popped, and occasionally boomed. Some of the loudest noises seemed to be entirely internal in origin, with no outward-facing changes to the ice.
