Swans in love in the green lake.
I was at the lake to try to catch some Autumn colours with relatively calm waters.
I saw a single swan, probably the cob, dipping for weed. I watched him sadly, remembering the seven signets that he and his mate had originally produced.

Suddenly I saw him perk up, and obviously see something over the lake (#2 below), and he steamed off over the water ( below) to greet the second swan, that seemed to have just arrived.
I reckoned it was one surviving daughter, and wondered what had happened to his mate.
