heavenly rays

Greatwork :

 

The power of light

the depth of shadow

gold on black on gold

and on the horizon

ponderous immensity plays tag

with gossamer ephemeron

striking sparks and setting the

land afire with

the smoking ruins of another day

the spirit whispers humility

light rays like bread crumbs

marking our way home

what inferno bursts from imagination

what images we share with our ancestors

no less in awe of light through the elemental

contrasting with the silent obscurity of shadows
