McHenry Man Charged in Brutal Murder of Wife

A 30-year-old McHenry man has been charged with murder following a brutal attack that left his wife dead Monday morning.
At around 8:53am, the McHenry Police Department responded to a house at 4316 West Parkway Ave. in McHenry after receiving a 911 call from a man claiming he killed his wife and allegedly slit his own throat. Upon arrival officers located a male subject, identified as Anthony Harrison, DOB 8/1/1985 of 4316 W. Parkway, McHenry, Illinois. Harrison was treated for his injuries at the scene and transported via Flight For Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
A search of the residence was conducted by police at which time a female subject was found deceased inside the home. Circumstances surrounding the death of the victim were suspicious in nature.
At the request of the McHenry Police Department, the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT) was activated to assist in the investigation. The scene was processed by the McHenry Police Department.
According to a press release from McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski, an autopsy performed Tuesday, June 7th, 2016, revealed Laura K. Harrison, 30, of McHenry, died from sharp and blunt forces injuries to her neck.
Upon the review of evidence, collection of statements and review of the Coroner’s findings with the McHenry County States’ Attorney’s Office, a Warrant of Arrest was issued against Anthony Harrison on June 7th, 2016.
Harrison was charged with 2 counts of Murder:
1 Count of First Degree Murder 720 ILS 9-1(a)(1)
1 Count of First Degree Murder 720 ILCS 9-1(a)(2)
Per the criminal complaint filed against Harrison it alleged that Harrison committed the act of First Degree Murder in that without lawful justification he stabbed the victim in the neck with a knife causing death and knowing such act would have the strong probability of causing death.
Harrison’s bond was set at $3,000,000 / 10% and he was given a court date of July 6, 2016. He will be transported to McHenry County Jail upon release from the hospital.
This investigation is ongoing.
