Pilgrimage at the Shinomiya Shrine (Miyajima, Japan 2015)

Two Japanese girls in traditional pilgrim dresses make their way to the Shinomiya Shrine, under the brilliant canopy of autumn leaves in Momijidani park.

Called "Tsubo-syozoku", these kimonos were worn by noble women and princesses some 1000 years ago. Today, it has become a fun and popular custom to dress up and stroll through colorful park while visiting the Daisyoin temple.
