Babys in Masai Mara, Nikon F90, Kodachrome 200, 1997

One morning in the Masai Mara, we discovered a lioness behind a bush that had just given birth. It was still slightly bloody. The boys must have just been born. We were blown away. The shutters in our cameras didn't want to stand still anymore. The lioness licked her cubs and did not care about us. Only once, when I ventured a little too far, she looked me in the eye and I knew: it is time to retreat.
