La Samaritaine
The department store La Samaritaine was once a prominent fixture of Paris, alongside Galleries Lafayette or the Bon Marchais. It closed down in 2005 due to not meeting safety codes (and apparently a consistant negative running cost), and after a long hiatus of 16 years, with a complete restructuring and refurbishment, the grand Samaritaine has finally reopened to the public under the Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton group.
