Inside View of Cologne Cathedral South Tower, Germany, 2006
(SCANNED PHOTO) This is what the great 157-meters spires of Cologne Cathedral look from the inside. I took the photo from the viewing platform at the top of the South Tower, at approximately 97 meters from the ground. The stone tracery in the cone is hollow, meaning that wind can flow easily through the spires.
