Union Pacific FEF-3 class 4-8-4 ALCO Northern steam locomotive # 8444 is seen after arrival at the station with its railfan excursion train at Sterling, Colorado, summer 1980. There was a large crowd of passengers and visitors checking out the steam locomotive and the cars. There was a line of passengers that were going to check out the cab at this time. After awhile the locomotive along with the baggage car was uncoupled from the train to be turned and then it proceeded to the other end and coupled on for the return trip to Denver, as I recall. Now it is possible that they did turn the whole train but I don't remember them doing so.
