CSX Railroad GE CW44AC locomotives # 34 & # 488 are seen while entering the North East end of the yard with a southbound loaded unit coal train at Erwin, Tennessee 2007. At this time there may have been twenty or more unit coal trains passing through Erwin in both directions within a 24 hour period, along with a few manifest freight trains and some local trains and switching moves. This was a very busy location back then, but the yard has now been closed due to the great reduction in coal traffic in this country. Am receiving a wave from the train's conductor out of his cab window. On the left there is some MOW equipment.
