New Haven Railroad DER-3a class ALCO PA-1 # diesel electric locomotive # 0778, along with a second PA-1, is seen wearing the McGinnis paint scheme while spotted on a service track in the Cedar Hill Yard, New Haven, Connecticut, Winter early 1960's. These were the last years of passenger train service being provided by these PA-1 locomotives, plus some were being pressed into freight service prior to their retirement in the mid 1960's. The elevated highway seen in the background may be I-95. A small amount of snow remains on the ground and tracks, although a bit dirty by now.
