*The elegance of the mantis*
Yesterday morning I was able to photograph a European Praying Mantis (a female, mantis religiosa) for the first time in the Eastern-Eifel region. The regional press recently reported on several occasions that they are now occurring there.
Gestern Morgen konnte ich zum ersten Mal eine Europäische Gottesanbeterin (ein Weibchen, mantis religiosa) in der Osteifel fotografieren. Die regionale Presse berichtete kürzlich mehrfach darüber, dass sie inzwischen dort vorkommen.
Die Art ist Insekt des Jahres 2017 in Deutschland.
