*Chimney Rock @ Golden Hour*
In the northwest San Juans east of the small town of Ridgway resides a lonely tower: Chimney Rock (also sometimes called Chimney Peak, 11,781 feet).
In the late afternoon we left the Silverjack reservoir back to Ridgway. From Owl Creek Pass Road (Ouray County Road 8), we saw through the forest as the last rays of the sun made the mountain massif glow. Unfortunately there was only a clear view of the Chimney Rock in a curve, but enough to make a few last pictures of it to capture the experience.
