Cow Moose And Her New Born Calf First One This Spring - 2025 - In Explore

I found this cow and her new born calf this morning.

I had just come from working with the fox and saw her and the calf. It was 6am.

I saw six fox this morning and was lucky enough to get shots of all six.

It was sprinkling out, but, not hard enough to be a problem.

I also saw six moose. All cows, but, only this one had a calf.

She was a very calm mom and easy to work with.

Since she was in an open area I approached her very carefully.

Always, good to take your time and let the animal know that you mean them no harm.

You can tell that she wasn't interested in me and was content to just lay there and chew her cud.

I spent about 15 minutes with her and the calf.

Then, I thanked her for being a good mom and allowing me to photograph her and the calf and left.
