Young Male Red Fox Walking Down An Old Beaver Cut Log
This is from last October.
I spent many hours and days watching and photographing this young fox.
It finally got to where he sort of trusted me and I was able to get some pretty good portrait shots of him.
That was last fall.
Then it got cold and the river froze.
He started crossing over to the other side.
I didn't see him again for weeks.
When I did, he was back to being very easily spooked and would run when I was still a good 100 yards away.
Recently, I am starting to see him more often and I think he has sort of remembered that I am not a danger to him.
Although, he still spooks easily.
Also, the little female has finally started to come into heat and I think that has helped to distract him. He has been paying more attention to her lately. She still chases him away.
I am hoping that I will be able to get something good of him before to long.
I am getting many, many shots of the the little female,
but, I would like to start getting shots of some of the other fox in the area.
PS - Notice that he doesn't have a white tip on his tail.
His father doesn't hardly have one either.
Camera Settings: f/5 - 1/125 - 200mm - ISO 4000
