Closeup Portrait Of A Very Rare Dilute Cinnamon Phase Black Bear
I photographed this bear for one spring and summer and into the fall.
Then DNR got involved and barrel trapped it.
Never saw that bear again.
There was some speculation that the guy from DNR that barrel trapped it, might have taken it as a "trophy".
Since there wasn't any reason to remove it and he was a bear hunter, with a shady reputation.
Sometimes, taking a "trophy" overrules common sense.
This bear was very easy to work with and very playful.
When freshly shed out it was a beautiful light honey blond color.
Towards fall the sun had bleached it to almost white.
This was a spring shot and its coat was nearly white till it shed out its old coat.
