Female Red Fox Walking On Freshly Frozen River - In Explore

We got a lot of snow about a week ago.

21 inches at our house.

Then the temperatures dropped.

It was -14 degrees yesterday morning and -13 degrees this morning.

Getting lots of hoar frost.

So, it was pretty cold out visiting the fox.

I took this a few days ago, right after the river started to freeze over.

She was hunting along the rivers edge.

The ice was pretty thin and I did worry about it.

But, she is smart and careful.

There were quite a few areas that had large frost crystals forming on the ice.

I saw 3 fox this morning and photographed 2 of them.
