Special Offers / Peri Peri grilled chicken and rice

Chicken Bite. 414 High Road, Tottenham, London N17.

What's this about?

Failing to resist bad puns, the Guardian newspaper reported a European "Obesity Crisis" "of enormous proportions".

"Projections by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and UK-based researchers lay bare a problem “of enormous proportions” facing many countries over the next decade and a half."

"Europe’s growing obesity crisis will see almost three-quarters of men and two-thirds of women in the UK being overweight in 15 years, health experts have said."

Fast food cafés and takeaways are a highly visible feature of poorer areas such as Tottenham. Which makes it easy to see them as a significant causal factor. And for them and their customers to become a target for blame.

But one it's also struck me that many other places, including better-off areas, have their own versions hard and soft sell invitations to unhealthy eating.
