I promised you all something better than yesterday's amateurish (and now deleted) offering. Here it is - an isolated tree on Stanmer Down, South Downs National Park. I've been here four times during the last ten days, but this afternoon was the first with any decent light. The previous visits were ruined by unreliable weather forecasts. I wanted a broader view of the characteristic undulating South Downs landscape, but I didn't get the chance on this occasion, because the sun never came out again, thanks to slow moving clouds.
