The wonderful Musee D'Orsay introduced a photography ban in 2011. It's a controversial act and there's a group dedicated to having the ban removed.
Anyway, I have a special fondness for La Rochelle and it's stunning harbour ever since I went through there on a bike tour. So I really wanted my own photo of Signac's lovely pointiliste painting of the harbour entrance.
With apologies to the attendant whose job it was to try to hold back the sea. They can't be everywhere, and they're fighting a losing battle.
