Conquering Fear.

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do.

Although I loved being in the water (I grew up in a city where beaches abound), it also really scared me. It is because I do not know how to swim. But I promised myself I will conquer this fear.

Some two years back, I decided to enrol in scuba diving. And I'm glad I did. I cannot imagine the things I would've missed if I didn't -- all the colorful corals, and fishes of different kinds and sizes. Add stingrays, turtles, and nudibranchs. It's a different kind of solitude being underwater.

Above all, I conquered my fear.

Recently, I logged my 40th dive (I'm not really a seasoned diver yet) in Coron Palawan and saw Japanese shipwrecks, remnants of the 2nd world war.

Of course, I take lots of pictures underwater, too! =)

It's true, life becomes fuller when we conquer our fears.
