Steven I. Netcott receives the Smithsonian Institute 2016 Unsung Hero Award
On May 17, 2016 Steven I. Netcott, Ames High School Class of 1973, received the Unsung Hero award from the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, David Scorton, in Washington, D.C. The award is given every three years to twenty recipients. Steven's wife of 28 years, Diane Willimack, attended the ceremony and reception. Steven has worked at the Smithsonian for six years as a mason. The Unsung Hero award exemplifies all the Smithsonian strives to be, by one of the finest Institutions in America.
