Political stall mate in Thailand is deepened even further when thousands of PAD protesters stormed international airport Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok leaving thousands of tourists stranded as all flights were cancelled at the peak of tourism season.

Closure of the airports by PAD, on the long run will have severe impact on Thai economy.

PAD protesters stormed Bangkok International Airport Suvarnabhumi on 26 December and put on halt all its operations, grounding all flights and creating havoc among passengers. More than 300,000 passengers is thought to have been stranded, while airport authorities have a mammoth task ahead to accommodate and screen priority passengers onto few emergency flights which are running from small navy airport remnant from Vietnam war era, south of Bangkok.
