Love me Love me Nots
My first real attempt at shooting flowers and boy is this already one of my personal favs for the year. After weeks of hibernating at home, I plodded my way out of the house and headed to Blenheim Palace for the day. It was cloudy this Saturday and it was forecasted to shower at some point in the afternoon but that didn't stop me. Note to the curious, this place does not dissapoint and I'll leave you with that.
Thanks to rcook's help , this is japanese anemone (flower actually originates from China). I found this white beauty in the depths of the Secret Garden.
Not much editing was done to this shot. Of course for those who'd like to know, I went through the normal routine of colour correction, levels, curves and unsharp mask (centre only!) to try and gain back that original detail. This shot was then cropped to get that macro effect and to place a focus to the centre of the flower along with the petals that stem out from it. Settings for this shot were 50mm F10 1/125 sec -0.3 exposure compensation with flash. The cropped out version can be seen here. A variation of it here.
