Devil's Throat Cave (Дяволско гърло) , Trigrad Gorge, Bulgaria; location of the mythical entrance to the underworld by which the hero Orpheus descended to retrieve his wife Euridice from Hades.
Hades eventually allowed them to leave on one condition - Orpheus could not look back upon Eurydice until they had both reached the surface. Once there, Orpheus glanced back, and realising too late that Euridice had not yet fully emerged, he could only watch as she disappeared back into the Underworld forever.
