Men At Work Freeing the Locomotive (1 of 2)
On February 17, 2012 I drove to Parrish, Florida to record the Placement of the Orange Blossom Special Steam Locomotive, on the track at the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish, Florida. This Photo shows the Steam Engine being moved close to the track by R.E. Johnson & Sons, Structural Movers. Notice the Dollies beneath the Cradle holding the Locomotive.
I wasn't able to get photos of the Locomotive in route because of delays the Rigging Company had in getting government approval from the Florida DOT regarding Permits and approvals for the Route (which particular roads) to be taken between Orlando and Parrish. I couldn't keep track of all of the reschedules of the delivery and consequently missed the opportunity to photograph the move itself. During the delay, the Locomotive and Tender were stored in the Old Amway Arena Parking Lot on the Northwest Side of Interstate Route 4 in Downtown Orlando prior to the movement to Parrish.
