High alpine trekking in the Silvretta mountains of Austria

Silvretta Mountains, Ischgl, Austria, July 2004. Crossing the Jamtalferner, glacier on the way to the Dreilaenderspitze. Trekking from hut to hut in the Silvretta is a strenuous adventure, Many high alpine tours are possible, as long as you have experience in crossing glaciers and basic rock climbing. If you don't have experience and you are not afraid of heights most peaks can be climbed with local mountain guides. Photo by Frits Meyst/Adventure4ever.com
