Deepavali events at the facade of Indian Heritage Centre to celebrate the Festival of Lights...
Mark in your Diary... 10 November is Deepavali. This year Deepavali or The Festival of Lights will be celebrated in an auspicious way. With the colorful building of Indian Heritage Centre in place, most of the activities are concentrated within the heritage centre. A series of events are expected to draw in tourists and locals alike. It's only the prelude tonight and expect interesting shows in store for the public.
About Diwali/Deepavali in Singapore
Diwali, also known as Deepavali, Dipavali, Dewali, Deepavali or the Festival of Lights, marks the beginning of the Hindu New Year. It is celebrated on the 15th day of Kartika (October/November) in the Hindu calendar. Diwali celebrations can last for about five days.
Indian HeritageCentre
The Indian Heritage Centre is the first museum in Southeast Asia to focus on the diverse heritage of the Indian community. The four-storey architectural gem stands in the heart of the historic Little India precinct. It comprises permanent galleries featuring five themes, a special exhibition gallery, as well as educational and activity spaces that provide an immersive learning experience for all visitors.
