Colourful Boats on Hardangervidda, Norway

Haukeliseter, a mountain lodge at 1000m above sea level, with access to the Hardangervidda. Located along road E-134, it is a well known reststop on the route from Bergen to Oslo. Lake Ståvatn remains frozen until early July, and when it thaws, boat outings become possible. The surrounding Hardangervidda mountain plateau is home to some 10000 reindeer. Yesterday the news reported of 300 of them dying from being struck by lightning.
