The Most Reverend Miguel de Benevides is a Spanish Dominican and third archbishop of Manila who was fundamental in the establishment of the Ponitifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, The Catholic University of the Philippines on April 28, 1611, making it the oldest chartered university in East Asia.
