Not having cash, and assuming that the pharmacy has Purell dispensers like they did on Friday, I was forced to touch parts of the card reader to pay for my prescriptions.
When I went to the Purell dispenser to sanitize my hands and other objects, this is what I found. Empty due to shortage. Is there any better description of the administration during this catastrophic health emergency?
There's a shortage of empathy. There's a shortage of urgency. There's an acute shortage of dedication to mobilizing the full power of the federal government to combat this plague as if our lives depended on it.
Instead there's an abundance of mendacity and hidden agendas. The president and those in his circle are terrified that the coronavirus might undo decades of Republican victories against all elements of government that favor the greater good over individual profit. They're trying to roll back the clock to the status quo of the Gilded Age before Teddy Roosevelt and the progressive movement made decisive inroads against the tyranny of the American oligarchy.
When I went to Amazon today to buy hand sanitizer, I found that Purell was sold out. Period.
Instead, I was presented with a wide array of Chinese-made sanitizers that might or might not reach me a month or more from now.
