Bodiam Castle [Redux]
I'm trying hard at the moment to improve my post-processing skills. As such, I thought it would be an interesting exercise to go back through my photostream, pull out some old images that I like, but was never happy with, and see if I can improve on them. All the "before" and "after" shots from this exercise - including this one - are posted in the "Image, Redux" gallery on my photostream page.
This one is a shot of Bodiam Castle in East Sussex. The weather was pretty typical - fast moving clouds and light rain followed by brief bursts of intense sun... not too much fun to be out in, but at least it made for some interesting light!
On this second processing pass I tried to remove some of the OTT HDR processing from the first time, increase the emphasis on the castle itself, and cool the image off a bit.
Tonemapped in Photomatix and re-blended with the original -2, 0, and +2EV images in PSE.
