Lake Doonella - Noosa Heads

www.adamgormley.com.au

A couple of pelicans, soaring just off the waterline, heading back to their favorite roosting place after a good feed. This is the beauty of Lake Doonella in the northern Sunshine Coast. A populatiuon cap in the area helps keep this area pristine to nature.

Lake Doonella is a shallow lake, and a haven for birds, including black swans, pelicans, cormorants, egrets just to name a few. The first bridge linking Tewantin to Noosaville over a narrow section of the lake was built in 1929. 81 years later, it is finally getting a rebuild.
