Child Charcoal Scavenger

This was one of the saddest scenes I have encountered in a long time. This girl was collecting miniscule scraps of charcoal which were dropped by other people who manufactured charcoal in this area. Her tiny collection would be sold by the kilo for a few cents. She was covered in charcoal dust, had a persistent cough, and a palpable sadness about her.
