Empty pods, seeds and seedling. Sterculia parviflora Roxb. ex G. Don. Malvaceae, also placed in Sterculiaceae. CN: [Malay - Kelumpang burung, Kelumpang, Rongga jantan, Perupuk, Unting-unting], Po-khanun, Sterculia. Distribution - India, Indo-China, Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo (Sarawak, Sabah). Briefly deciduous tree up to ca 30 m tall. Habitat - lowland forest. The genus Sterculia which this tree comes from is named after the Roman God of Dung, Sterculius.
