Modern Dance

Sometimes these little wooden mannequins are useful for creating tiny versions of a costume to test an idea or demonstrate a silhouette. This set of four had been hiding under a worktable for a few years, still wearing remnants of felt costume samples from previous seasons. I borrowed them to make this little tableau. It made sense to arrange them on a sweep of brown kraft paper, both for the color and because it's what we use to make costume patterns.

Lighting: An SB-800 in a Lumiquest softbox camera right, and an SB-900 with a 2 stop ND gel and a 1/8" grid pointed at the background.
